Strategic Planning- All strategic plans created include complete implementation plans or “how to” plans for each project. The client should prepare for the consultant(s) to be onsite from 2-5 days with the complete plan delivered within 30 days. Strategic planning is typically focused in one of several areas:
Overall plan for main street program implementation
Individual committee plans
Board and or fund raising strategic planning
An assessment visit can be a “tune up” for the overall economic development organization or focused on a particular project or committee. Depending on the need and project the onsite time could be from 2-5 days.
Market Studies- Typically divided into three sections:
An executive summary. Is typically used as a recruitment tool.
A market summary that identifies changes in terms of demographics, types of businesses, market demand and retail sales that are leaving the area. All key demographic, socioeconomic and economic data is included. Business inventories, consumer surveys, life styles and other key components designed to give a complete state of the community and forecast for the future.
An Economic Development Recap will outline business retention, recruitment and expansion strategies that can be implemented by the governing body and volunteer organizations within the area. Niche business identification, business needs assessment, expansion prospects and segments that are going to see the most rapid and sustainable growth.
